Solar Installer
Job Title: Solar Installer
Pay Rate: $20-$25/Hourly

American Solar Advantage (ASA), is currently seeking a Solar Installer, to maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. May perform minor electrical work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create or interpret the solar panel installation plans, mapping out the steps of the installation and where all the components will be installed.
  • Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
  • Perform trenching, concrete work
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair solar panel systems, including the solar collectors, concentrators, batteries, pumps, fans, or support structure.
  • Do all electrical work needed to connect solar system to electric grid. This includes proper grounding systems, controls, and all testing necessary.
  • Weatherproof the solar installation in accordance with local safety regulations and the specifications of the manufacturer.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in both a Residential and Commercial Settings,

Required Experience:

  • 2-4 years’ solar experience preferred
  • MUST have a reliable phone
  • Willingness to work long hours, often in unpleasant weather conditions, especially when making repairs to damaged lines.
  • A high degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required. The high degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others when responsible for the flow of electrical power. Exposed to high voltage electricity.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work overhead, navigate up and down ladders.
  • Long-distance and/or overnight travel may be required
  • Must have a full range of mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions and
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
